FAQs
SLP Agenda
What is SLP?
Speech-Language Planet (SLP) is a platform created for speech-language pathologists, audiologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and teachers to exchange, post, and/or sell digital resources and merchandise products. We truly believe that all of these professions deserve a stage to showcase their creations. For example, when SLPs compose books, they are more likely to gain acknowledgment and recognition on our website since our audience is occupation-specific. SLP tries its hardest to create a safe space and hopes to connect creative minds who are not afraid to ask questions, give advice, and use critical thinking skills. Whether you’re curious about the pros and cons of different occupations or specific work settings, we invite you to participate in our live chats and forums.
Membership Levels
What can I access with a free buyer membership?
SLP offers a free buyer membership, which allows you to browse, access and/or buy digital materials and merchandise products. With this membership, you can participate in live chats and forums with other professionals across settings. You can sign up here for a free buyer membership.
What is a Basic Vendor Account?
If you sign up as a basic vendor, you not only have access to digital materials and quality merchandise, but you can upload your original materials and merchandise products. You can offer your materials for free or sell them. You can always upgrade to a Premium Vendor Account to earn a higher payout rate.
What is a Premium Vendor Account?
You can become a premium vendor if you purchase an annual subscription of $49.95. This allows you to receive a higher commission on each of your products sold. If you do not cancel your membership via PayPal or by contacting us, then your subscription will be renewed automatically.
What does the Private Practice Membership entail?
Our private practice membership gives business owners the opportunity to advertise job openings while boosting visibility to potential clients. You can sign up for a monthly or annual membership that will be automatically renewed. You can cancel those by contacting us or via PayPal. While we won’t be able to reimburse past membership subscription payments, we’ll discontinue automatic renewal as soon as you notify us to prevent future automatic payments.
How do I cancel my membership?
We’re sorry to see you go. Whether you signed up for the buyer, buyer AND seller membership or private practice membership, you can contact us or click on the cancel membership box.
Seller Guidelines
What are the seller guidelines?
You can’t post the same resource in multiple listings. You’re more than welcome to make changes to the minimum price of your materials/ products, but are obligated to offer the full material advertised in your listing for the price that was listed at the time of the purchase. Your resources should be designed by yourself and descriptions as well as the titles of your resources/ products should be accurate and truthful.
How do sellers get paid?
Private Practice
Does SLP provide therapy services?
Our nationwide database connects private practice owners with qualified job seekers, industry peers, and clients to fuel growth and simplify hiring. We do not provide therapy services.
Return/ Refund Policy
What is your refund policy for digital resources?
Once digital materials are dowloaded, they usually can’t be refunded since access is immediate. In rare cases, SLP will make exceptions, so please contact us with the resource name, any relevant details and WHY you’re requesting a refund.
What is your refund/ return policy for merchandise products?
SLP is not responsible for the quality of products, their description, title and shipping. All merchandise products are in direct affiliation with amazon or etsy and therefore, please refer to their return/ refund policies . Please refer to the corresponding affiliate website.
I was charged twice for the same resource, so what should I do?
Please contact us and we will review your request.
Affiliate Marketing
What is affiliate marketing and what does it mean for sellers?
SLP participates in the Amazon Affiliate program, which allows the website owner to advertise products from Amazon.com on their site by creating links. When customers click the links and buy products from Amazon, they earn referral fees. Vendors on SLP are only allowed to post and link their own products to amazon, not the products of other creators, authors, etc.
How do I link my amazon products to SLP?
Step 1: Register the Website in your Profile
Amazon must know exactly where your traffic is coming from.
- Log in to Amazon Associates Central.
- Hover over your email address in the top right and select Account Settings.
- Click on Edit Your Website And Mobile App List.
- Enter the URL of the partner website in the “Enter Your Website(s)” box and click Add.
- Click Confirm. (Note: The site must be public and not contain prohibited content like violence or sexually explicit material).
- Go to the Amazon product page you want to link.
- Using the SiteStripe bar at the top, click Text.
- Choose the Short Link option.
- Copy this specific URL.
- Near the link: A simple tag like (paid link) or #ad right next to the product name.
- On the page: The official statement: “As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.”
- Important: If the site owner refuses to include a disclosure, do not post your links there. You are the one who will lose your account if Amazon’s bots crawl the page and find “hidden” affiliate links.
- Do not put them in comments: This is considered spam.
- Use them in context: Ensure the link is part of a helpful article, review, or recommendation.
- Open in New Tab: Ask the developer to set the link attributes to target=”_blank” and rel=”sponsored”. This helps with SEO and keeps the user on the original site while opening Amazon in a new window.
- Look for “Clicks” coming from that specific URL.
- If you see clicks but no sales, verify that the link was copied correctly and hasn’t been “stripped” of your Tag ID by the website’s software.
Follow Amazon Associates policies
When placing links on a third-party site, ensure you follow these strict Amazon Associates policies:
- Site Disclosure: You must list the third-party website in your Amazon Associates Central profile under “Website and Mobile App List” so Amazon can verify where your traffic is coming from.
- No Spamming: Do not post affiliate links in the comments or forum sections of a website you don’t own, as this is considered “spamming” and can lead to account termination.
- Public Access: The site must be public and accessible to Amazon’s compliance team for inspection.
